Zaman Jute Diversified Mills Limited started its journey on May 2011 with a singular purpose of providing the best quality jute yarn for the export market. The factory is situated in Jheneidah right beside the Dhaka-Jheneidah highway. It is around 200 kms away from the capital. The factory with a capacity of 25 tons per day is producing high quality jute yarn from local raw jute. The factory is semi automated and all the machineries are of the highest standard.The company is successfully exporting its products to China, Iran, Turkey, India, Holland, Russia and many more. The factory has grown quite a solid reputation for its relentless resolve to produce high quality jute yarn. Zaman Jute also has a very efficient sales team who are performing brilliantly in many different markets.
What is Jute?
Jute is obtained from the plants Corchorus olitorius and Corchorus capsularis. These plants are native to the Indian subcontinent and are grown throughout the year. The jute fibres are mainly concentrated near the woody, central parts of the stalk. They are composed of cellulose and lignin. There are two kinds of jute that are produced today: White jute and brown jute, which is stronger, softer, and silkier.
In terms of usage and production, jute is second only to cotton: it is easy to grow and has a high yield.
Jute has little elasticity and is a very breathable fabric. Contrary to most textile fibres, which consist mainly of cellulose, jute fibres also include lignin. Usually found in wood fibres, lignin brings extra strength and durability, making it ideal for making hard-working rugs and door mats.
